Workshops/ KKM Family Forum
On May 13, 2004 Dr. Tom Owley from the University of Chicago spoke to Have Dreams parents and staff as part of the Kathleen Kennedy Martin Family Forum. Dr. Owley spoke about medications and how they can be used to help children with autism. Dr. Owley and Dr. Kathleen Martin also answered questions from parents about medication and their children.

Kathleen Kennedy Martin Family Forum at Have Dreams
The Kathleen Kennedy Martin Family Forum was established by Kathleen’s colleagues, teachers and friends to pay tribute to this remarkable and talented young woman. In honor of Kathleen’s passionate commitment to enhancing the lives of children with autism and their families and her exceptional ability to do so, Kathleen’s colleagues have volunteered to provide a series of workshops for the families of Have Dreams and other families of children with special needs. The generosity and eagerness with which Kathleen’s colleagues from across the country have offered to share their wealth of expertise reflects their admiration and affection for Kathleen, her ongoing meaningful contributions and the many lives she has touched, as well as their recognition of the fundamental importance of the work of Have Dreams. The forum is designed as a celebration of Kathleen’s life and work. It is an ongoing series of interactive workshops that allows families in small groups to learn from and have dialogue with experts in the field. This interactive format reflects the spirit of Kathleen’s work and her passion about the reciprocal nature of learning whereby families and clinicians teach each other through the active exchange of ideas.
